Forsyth Presbyterian Church

Our Mission

Our congregation’s mission is to nourish, nurture, and renew the disciples of Christ for God’s work in the world. We are a progressive Christian community and an open and affirming congregation.

Our Congregation’s Leaders

Rev. Marilyn McKelvey Tucker-Marek

Marilyn McKelvey Tucker-Marek has served as the pastor of Forsyth Presbyterian Church since 2014. She graduated from the University of Alabama with her Bachelors of the Arts in philosophy, and graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary with her Masters of Divinity. She also serves as the pastor of the UKirk Campus Ministry at Mercer University’s Macon campus. In 2018 she served as moderator of Flint River Presbytery.

The Session

As a presbyterian congregation, our church is governed
by the session, a council of ordained ruling elders. These elders are members of the congregation elected by the congregation to make decisions for and guide our church as we seek to worship and serve as Christ’s faithful disciples in the world.

About Our Demoninational Structure

As a Presbyterian congregation Forsyth Presbyterian Church is part of a larger, connectional denomination. We are a member of Flint River Presbytery, the Synod of the South Atlantic, and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This membership enables us to collaborate on mission and ministry, and to discern the will of God for Christ’s Church in the world with other believers committed to our shared reformed theology. For more information about each of these councils of our denomination, we invite you to visit their websites listed below.
